Bekaert is an international company operating worldwide with in total approx. 19,000 people employed. In Assen the heating division is located producing gas heating elements and exchangers for home and industrial used heaters. The heating division, located in Assen (NL) also has a production and research location in Venlo (NL) and in the US as well as two subcontracting locations in Romania. 

The financial department in Assen has fallen behind on the Bekaert standard. An internal audit has led to the recruitment of a new financial director and the leave of the manager financial accounting. The internal re-audit has been successfully and the finance department has been brought above Bekaert standard, including recruitment and training of new personnel and the implementation of new and better (closing) procedures. 

Accounting is IFRS. ERP system is SAP. Financial reporting responsibility local and to Bekaert Group Headquarters in Zwevegem - Belgium
